If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow.”

— John Dewey, American Philosopher

“It all started with breakfast…

… with a neighbour who wanted help in setting up parental controls to help to keep her son safe online.

I thought “how hard can this be”.

2 hours later, over coffee and avocado toast, I realised there is a major problem, with childrens’ online safety being so confusing.

Something has to be done.”

— Daniel Rankine

About Us

Daniel Rankine

With a passion for helping others, Daniel loves connecting with people and nature, finding and sharing answers to problems.

Starting his young career in the world of special effects he quickly became an authority in technical complex problems, loving his work at Sony, especially supporting celebrities with technical support.

He realised that everything has a solution, with positivity, an open mind and warm human connections.  With that, he started tackling problems in public services: councils in central London councils and international digital strategy.

In this line of work, he has encountered a range of issues facing society and takes on hyper-complex problems with determination, positive energy and creativity.

Drumelo is a concept he created where he could share solutions that make a difference to people.  Digital confidence is a huge subject and there are gaps where people are not getting the support they need.  This is the next chapter of Daniel’s unusual problem-solving career.

Sophia Pettit

Sophia is driven to make a positive impact in the world, from running a community space to starting a food bank, to working with therapists to enhance their support services. She pursued a degree in psychology, where her interest in child development began to take shape.

She recognises the vast potential of digital tools to both benefit and harm individuals. Her extensive research on online safety revealed that the existing frameworks for staying safe online focus on outlining the many risks children face, but with a need for actionable solutions, practical tools and strategies for parents to support their children’s e-safety.

Sophia envisions a world where parents can navigate the digital landscape with ease, empowering families to make the most of technology and ensuring the safety and well-being of their loved ones.
